Release Builds

Several pre-built distributions of General Interface are available from http://www.generalinterface.org. Choose from the following:

For development:

  • Debug (gi-version-debug.zip, a custom General Interface debug build that can be used during development to detect and report such performance issues as multiple repaints, multiple box recalculations, times to perform various operations, and so on.

For optimal runtime performance at deployment time:

  • Standard gi-version.zip, a General Interface build that pre-loads typical components.
  • Maximum gi-version-max.zip a General Interface build that statically loads commonly used GUI controls, such as Matrix.
You can also create your own custom build. See the Chapter 19 Optimizing Load Performance in General Interface Developer Guide.

Source code:

Microsoft's Attachment Manager might block the ZIP file and its contents. To unblock the ZIP file, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the ZIP file, and click Properties.
  1. On the General tab, click Unblock. If you don't see this button, your file is not blocked and there's no need to unblock it. For more information, see the General Interface Getting Started Guide.
