Recording GITAK Test Cases

Operation of the Test Recorder in GITAK is similar to GIPP operation, except for the following:

  • The resource file requires a .html extension.
  • To launch the Test Recorder in GITAK, click Launch in GITAK.
  • GITAK considers the whole table to be a single test case.
  • There is no ID/Label column.
  • When you click Launch in GITAK, GITAK opens with the test case displayed. The test suite is generated automatically to run from Builder. The purpose of the Test Recorder is to help you construct the test case. Note that the wait and assert actions are not listed.

Editing the GITAK Events Table

The GITAK Test Recorder helps you to create a bootstrap version of your test cases; however, it will not help in every situation. To check below the level of GITAK abstraction you must manually insert additional commands (for example, for browser level events). In general, the test recorder is good for bootstrapping, but some manual steps are generally required.
