Quick Steps

Complete these steps to create, test, and deploy a custom General Interface build with the General Interface Load Performance Optimization script:

  1. Set up to create a custom build. See Setting up for Custom Builds.
    1. Create a new deployment directory.
    2. Copy these files from the General Interface installation directory into the new deployment directory:
      JSX/ directory
      jsx3.gui.window.html
      jsx3.gui.window.xhtml
      logger.xml
      shell.html
      shell.xhtml


    3. Copy the General Interface optimization script from GI_HOME/util/gi-merge.sh to the same file system drive.
  2. Create a custom build. Creating Custom Builds.
    1. Modify the script to customize the set of pre-loaded classes.
    2. Run the script.
  3. Deploy the new custom build and the General Interface application to a web server. See Deploying Custom Builds.
    1. Copy the new deployment directory and the General Interface application to a web server.
    2. Modify the path of the src attribute on the launch page or in the launch link to point to the deployment directory.
  4. Test the application performance, modify the optimization script as needed and rerun it, and redeploy to test again.
