Cloning Components

Making clones of components saves development time in creating your application and in setting component properties. A clone is a copy of a selected component. Once you've cloned the component, you can modify the properties of the cloned component.

To create a clone of a component, complete these steps:

  1. Select a component in the Component Hierarchy palette or in the work area.
  2. Click the Clone button on the toolbar to create a clone. The cloned component is created in the work area and is added to the Component Hierarchy palette below the selected component.
To clone multiple components, select them using Ctrl+click or Shift+click and then click the Clone button.
  3. Modify the component properties as desired in the Properties Editor palette. See Modifying Properties.
